$450,000 Jury Verdict – M.E. v. J.A., Excavating And Mechanical Company, et. al.

This case was filed as a result of the injuries Plaintiff sustained on or about March 30, 2015. On this date, plaintiff was working at a Public Entity. While working at this jobsite, Defendant co- worker J.A. attempted to lift a manhole cover labeled “power”. Being unable to appropriately lift the manhole cover, and due to the lack of supervision at the job site, Plaintiff left his work area in an effort to assist Defendant J.A. However, Defendant was unable to lift the cover, dropping it down the manhole, while Plaintiff was bent over the manhole causing an arc flash blast which blew smoke, air and dust into Plaintiff’s face and threw him backwards into the air. As a result of this incident, Plaintiff has sustained permanent injuries requiring continued medical treatment.
